Welcome to Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, or more commonly known as TAR UC!
Established by the Malaysian Chinese Association (‘MCA’) in 1969 and named after Malaysia’ first Prime Minister and Father of Independence, YTM Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, TAR UC has stayed true to its roots and remained focused on providing quality and affordable education to all Malaysians irrespective of race, class and creed for more than 49 years.
From a community college to a University College with a view to becoming a university, we have grown to a student body of over 28,000 in 6 campuses nationwide which include our Main Campus in Kuala Lumpur and 5 branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Johor, Pahang and Sabah. What is evident as you set foot into our campus grounds is the energy and vitality of an intellectually vibrant environment. The serene ambience of lush greenery and a rich student lifestyle create the perfect milieu for a well-balanced learning environment for intellectual growth and personal development.
Our programmes are professionally driven, industry-relevant and entrepreneurship-focused to ensure that our graduates are work-ready upon graduation and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their respective fields. Not resting on our laurels, TAR UC continues to evolve and keep ourselves in tandem with the future job trends. We have nurtured and produced over 190,000 graduates, with many of them becoming national leaders, industry captains, successful entrepreneurs and professionals who have made their mark in Malaysia and abroad.
As you enter a new chapter of your life pursuing higher education, TAR UC is a great place to build the foundation that will shape your future. While acquiring knowledge in the classroom, you will also learn how to apply this knowledge in real life leading to a robust and well-rounded education. All in all, TAR UC is an inspiring place where students can discover themselves, be the author of their own success stories and make a difference in society.
I would like to share a quote by Martin Luther King, Jr. that says “the function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” With that, I invite you to browse through this site and discover for yourself the richness of scholarship and experiences that TAR UC has to offer.
Come visit our Open Day happening on 15 – 17 December 2017, from 9am – 5pm at Sports Complex, Kuala Lumpur Main Campus and also at all TAR UC campuses nationwide. Or visit our booth at major education fairs to find out how you can chart your education journey at TAR UC.
Rest assured that at TAR UC, you will find more than just academic satisfaction but also a gratifying sense of personal fulfilment.
