Industry Collaboration

MOU between KTAR & IME Trading Sdn. Bhd.

School of Technology in conjunction with Centre of Continuing Professional Education have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the supplier and authorised Solidworks Training, Testing and Support Centre, IME Trading Sdn. Bhd. to provide training for TAR College students at lower charges. The trainings provided are “Essential Parts & Assembly Drawing in Solidworks”, “Advanced Modelling & Assembly Design in Solidworks” and “COSMO Flow work for Design Analysis.”

The collaboration has been extended to offer our students the professional certification CSWA a certified SolidWorks Associate for an individual that has successfully passed the required fundamental skills examination. Each CSWA has proven their ability to design parts and assemblies using a variety of core features in SolidWorks.

The comprehensive training offered to our students is on par with the level leading with the award of Certification of Solidworks Professional (CSWP). CSWP is an international certification and is a proven program for design professionals to effectively measure and evaluate their skill and level of competency in 3D modelling and design.

IME offers TAR College students a special low fee to sit for the CSWP and 12 of our past students have sat for and was awarded the CSWP qualification.
 
 

Academia-Industrial Collaboration in Research MOU between KTAR & IME Trading Sdn. Bhd.

The School of Technology is also collaboration with the supplier and authorised Solidworks Training, Testing and Support Centre, IME Trading Sdn. Bhd. for research collaboration in Advanced Manufacturing System.

This academia industrial collaboration is to enhance academic and industrial links through the provision of preparatory, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, professional training, joint research and other academic services.

The collaboration includes the technical and business cooperation in Research and Development and Commercialisation (R&D&C) projects related to Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS), software implementation such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). The research aimed at providing solutions for SMI/SME companies, and entrepreneurs who are facing difficulties in production processes and are interested to automate the existing manufacturing system.
