TAR UMT officially celebrated a new milestone with the soft launch of the state-of-the-art TAR UMT Arena, a 1.5 million square feet facility designed to serve as the heart of the Kuala Lumpur campus on 19 September 2025. The soft launch, held in conjunction with the vibrant TAR UMT Music Fiesta, was officiated by Yang Berhormat (YB) Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee Ka Siong, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of TARC Education Foundation. Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, Chairman of the Board of Governors, and Alumni Council of TAR UMT and Prof Dato’ Indera Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, were also present at the launch ceremony.
In his speech, Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee highlighted the arena's significance as a symbol of the institution's commitment to holistic education and nation-building. "The TAR UMT Arena is more than just a building; it is a symbol of our unwavering dedication to nation-building and our commitment to providing a holistic, beyond-education experience for TAR UMT students. As we celebrate this soft launch, let us remember that this is just the beginning. It is the start of a new chapter in TAR UMT's history. We must continue to support our students and entrepreneurs, and ensure that the TAR UMT Arena becomes a cornerstone of our community for many years to come," he stated.
The ceremony also witnessed the presentation of three certificates, in recognition of TAR UMT Arena’s sustainability, environmental-friendly and green technology features. The certificates are from Green Real Estate (GreenRE), Green Building Index (GBI), and MyCrest. In addition, FIFA and the Malaysia Athletics Federation also presented their certificates of recognition for TAR UMT Arena’s field meeting FIFA’s standard and the running tracks meeting the technical requirements of the World Athletics Rules. The certificates of recognition were presented to Datuk Seri Ir Dr Wee on behalf of TAR UMT Arena.

Opened to the University’s community on 9 July 2025, the approximately RM 210 million facility is a purpose-built hub offering a diverse range of modern amenities. For students, the six-storey arena provides a dedicated recreational hub with F&B outlets, student lounges, and spaces for clubs and societies, as well as modern sports facilities including a FIFA-certified football field, an eight-lane 400-metre running track, and multi-purpose indoor courts.
The arena also serves as a crucial centre for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). It is equipped with co-working spaces, meeting rooms, galleries, and a pitching hall, designed to foster innovation and provide the necessary resources for new businesses to thrive.
The successful completion of the TAR UMT Arena marks the beginning of a new chapter for the institution, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of the community for students and entrepreneurs alike.
