TAR UMT celebrates yet another cohort of graduands following the University’s successful May 2026 convocation ceremony in its Kuala Lumpur campus on 23 – 24 May 2026.
The two-day ceremony saw 2,562 graduands receive their scrolls on stage, comprising 32 postgraduate, 494 bachelor’s degree, and 2,036 diploma graduates.
Presided over by Prof Dato’ Indera Ir Dr Lee Sze Wei, President of TAR UMT, he urged the graduating cohort to retain a lifelong learning mindset in order to keep up with a future that is constantly evolving.
“There will be moments when you are asked to adapt, to persevere, and to make difficult decisions. In those moments, remember the resilience that carried you through your years at TAR UMT. Success in life is not measured solely by position, wealth, or recognition, but by the impact you make on the people around you and the values you uphold along the way. As you move forward, continue to learn, continue to grow, and continue to serve with wisdom, humility, and purpose,” said Prof Dato’ Indera Ir Dr Lee in his speech.
The TAR UMT May 2026 convocation ceremony was also attended by Members of the Board of Trustees, TARC Education Foundation, Datuk Seri Yew Teong Look and Datuk Roger Tan Kor Mee, as well as Members of the Board of Governors of TAR UMT, Ts Dr Haji Mohamad Kamal Haji Harun, Prof Ir Dr Shaliza binti Ibrahim, Prof Dr Harshita Aini Haroon, and Ms Foo Sook Fuang.

A promising and bright future awaits the celebrated graduands, including Chong Chia Wei, who completed her Master of Corporate Governance. She was also awarded the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) Prestige Trophy Award for her stellar academic performance and strong student leader qualities demonstrated during her studies.
“These accomplishments represent my perseverance, discipline, and belief that consistent effort and dedication lead to meaningful achievements. Today's achievements are deeply meaningful to me and will serve as a strong motivation for me to continue pursuing excellence via lifelong learning in my professional journey,” said Chia Wei, who is currently employed at Mizuho Bank (Malaysia) Bhd.

Sarrveendraah a/l N. Gunasegaran, a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) graduate and recipient of the PwC Award, credited TAR UMT’s role in shaping his personal and professional growth via its conducive learning environment and robust academic staff.
“Credit also has to go to my family for being my biggest source of support and motivation, especially during the challenging times throughout my studies. Their encouragement has allowed me to develop myself, persevere through, and now finally secure my academic qualifications. This award is not only a personal milestone – it is a motivation for me to continue striving for excellence in my future calling,” said Sarrveendraah, who is looking forward to a bright career in the field of accounting and finance.
