TAR UMT returned from Sukan Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi (SUKIPT) 2024 victorious after winning a grand total of 31 medals - 12 gold, 10 silver and 9 bronze - recording the best performance ever by our student athletes and smashing the medal target set by TAR UMT.

For SUKIPT 2024, TAR UMT set a target of 19 medals for the 136 student athletes sent to compete in the games hosted by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) from 4 – 16 September 2024. The TARCians competed in volleyball, basketball, table tennis, chess, badminton, athletics, swimming, taekwondo, and karate.

In the previous SUKIPT two years ago, TAR UMT garnered one gold, six silver, and five bronze medals through swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and karate. The most medals TAR UMT has won in SUKIPT was 14, which was achieved in 2014.

The record-breaking performance resulted in TAR UMT finishing seventh on the SUKIPT 2024 medal table.
