Recognising the importance of mental agility and character development in students, TAR College has partnered with the Malaysia Weiqi Association (MWA) to host the 2011 Malaysia - Thailand - Singapore Friendly Tournament 2011 and the Community Cup Competition.

Mr. Ung Thean Lim, Director of Student Affairs at TAR College officiated the launch and added that the 3,000- year old weiqi would be incorporated into the co-curriculum units of the College. The profound philosophy and flexible strategies of the board game would benefit the students especially in the strengthening of mental skills and self discipline.

The competitions held at the Bangunan Tun Tan Siew Sin, KL Main Campus had attracted over 200 participants from China, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Penang and Johor.
