Preparing Students for Research Projects via Informative Webinar

Laying the foundation for academic research endeavours, TAR UC's lecturers from the Department of Communication organised a webinar on 9 March 2022 to provide an introduction, guide and share tips to all Degree-level students.

Titled "Developing Your Research Interests", the webinar aimed to prepare and benefit students prior to their final year research projects by inculcating students with solid critical thinking and practical skills.

The webinar was attended by about 300 students who enjoyed a session featuring five panelists consisting of TAR UC lecturers who covered the advertising, broadcasting, journalism, media studies and public relations fields.

"This webinar provides a platform to allow lecturers to further guide and share their knowledge about communication and media research so that our students could grasp and apply these essential skills more proficiently," commented Dr Tang Mui Joo, Deputy Dean, Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries ('FCCI').

Mr Chuan Tek Pheung, chairperson of the webinar, added: "We hope this webinar will motivate students in developing research interests, critical reading, probable topics and proposal contents, so that they can apply their academic know-how and research capabilities as effectively as possible."
