Historical event for TARC - Naming Ceremony for Bangunan Tun Tan Siew Sin and Bangunan Tan Sri Khaw Kai Boh

The College paid tribute to its founding fathers; the late Tun Tan Siew Sin and the late Tan Sri Khaw Kai Boh by naming the new administrative building and Block A after the respective founders. It was their foresight, commitment and hard work that had led to the formation and progressive development of the College.

This tribute will serve as an inspiration to the TARC community to look back with reverence on the past, concentrate on the present and share positive hopes for a progressive future. Bangunan Tun Tan Siew Sin and Bangunan Tan Sri Khaw Kai Boh are the two iconic buildings in the campus landscape. Equally interesting is the new TARC gallery as it depicts the history, milestone and achievements of the College for more than four decades.

The Naming Ceremony was attended by the family members of the late Tun Tan Siew Sin and the late Tan Sri Khaw Kai Boh, YB Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting, Council Chairman, Dr Tan Chik Heok, College Principal, senior college officials, staff, alumni and students.

Adding to the awesomeness of the "double" unveiling of the buildings was the thundering drum beats by the proud students from the College Chinese Orchestra team. YB Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting also signed on two plaques to commemorate the milestone event.

In conjunction with the naming ceremony were the presentation of long service awards to 58 staff including the College Principal and senior staff. Other performances were by the College choir on the "La Man" song, a Chinese cultural dance by 4 students, a singing duet plus a special song "You raised me up" dedicated to Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting who will be retiring in September 2011.
