The FCCI Postgraduate Lecture Series aims to broaden the education and knowledge of both postgraduate and undergraduate students.
The Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (‘FCCI’) has kicked off the FCCI Postgraduate Lecture Series. The first lecture saw Mr James Wilson from the Embassy of the United State of America shedding light on the U.S. Economic Policy in Asia-Pacific.
The lecture was held on 16 August 2022 with about 50 students and academic staff gathered at DK 1 to listen to a presentation by Mr James Wilson, who is an economic officer of the Embassy of the United State of America.
Dr Tang Mui Joo, Deputy Dean of FCCI, presented a token of appreciation to Mr Wilson on behalf of FCCI. Also present were Dr Chang Teck Peng, Programme Leader of the Master of Arts in Communication programme, Ms Siti Norwani binti Tormadi, Programme Leader of the Bachelor of Communication (Hons) in Media Studies programme, Mr Kenn Yeap Thiam Hoong, Programme Leader of the Diploma in Media Studies programme and Dr Maithreyi A/P Subramaniam, Associate Dean, Department of Creative Industries.
The FCCI Postgraduate Lecture Series was initiated due to the Master of Arts in Communication Programme which has been offered since July 2021. This initiative aims to broaden the education and knowledge of both the postgraduate and undergraduate students while providing additional opportunities for academic staff to engage with the guest speakers from various sectors.
In this semester, the FCCI Postgraduate Lecture Series comprise three guest speakers from the academia, industry and public sphere to share their perspectives and observations on critical topics of interest in various areas. The next two lectures in the pipeline are:
