Mr Serm Teck Choon reminding the students to be careful with giving out data and personal details.

The FCCI Postgraduate Lecture Series came to the last session of the semester on 22 September 2022, with Mr Serm Teck Choon presenting a lecture entitled, “Preparing for a Data-driven Era”.

Mr Serm, a digital evangelist who is passionate about using digital tools to help businesses transform, is co-founder and CEO of Antsomi, a regional marketing technology company aiming to help businesses transform into data-driven companies.

He was also the 4th President of Malaysian Digital Association (MDA), and served for two terms.

In the lecture, Mr Serm briefed the students on the types of data and highlighted the importance and value of data. He also reminded students to be careful with giving out data and personal details.

According to him, even though many companies are profiting off our data, and we are getting better content because of data personalisation, a good service provider will respect your decision to give them data or otherwise, and will handle your data carefully.
