TAR UMT took a step to expand artificial intelligence (AI) literacy amongst educators by hosting a community service workshop on AI tools for school teachers of Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (Cina) Mun Yee, Kuala Lumpur, on 27 July 2026.
Led by the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FOCS), the workshop was attended by approximately 70 school teachers who were encouraged to adopt AI tools such as Gemini Notebook that can be integrated into their daily work. After being introduced to the fundamentals, teachers were given time to familiarise themselves with the provided AI tools via guided sessions, practical demonstrations, and simple AI prompt exercises.
The programme hopes to instil confidence in the teachers when using AI tools, so they may in turn be able to equip their own students with digital skills, critical thinking, and responsible application of AI technology that will be needed in a technology-driven world.
This community service initiative reflects TAR UMT’s commitment to community outreach and engagement, where the act of sharing knowledge and empowering educators with digital innovation can create a positive long-term impact capable of benefiting generations.
