TAR UMT’s Chinese martial arts (Kung Fu) team roared the loudest in the Wushu Twins Tiger Championship 2026 held on 25 – 26 July 2026, after returning with 13 gold medals, five silver medals, and one consolation prize.
In addition, the team, represented by nine members, demonstrated an outstanding performance to earn the team the Best Team and Champion titles in the All-Rounder Intervarsity Group category.
Held at Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya, the team went up against some of the best varsity student-athletes in the country.
“I am so proud of the team, who faced off against some of the most formidable wushu exponents and yet still showed exceptional composure and mental strength. Even in the face of adversity, they stayed focused and executed their own performance to the best of their abilities.
“I think the greatest advantage our team has was the mutual support every member showed for each other even when they are not the ones competing. From helping in rigorous sparring and practice sessions months before the competition or cheering each other on throughout the two-day competition, our team created a synergy that even if there is only one person on the stage, they are carrying the spirit and determination of TAR UMT as a whole,” said Low Yen Yee, President of the TAR UMT Kung Fu team.
