TAR College Sports & Exercise Science Society and the Malaysia Weiqi Association had jointly organized the Malaysia Weiqi Open Championship 2011, which was held from 4 to 5 June 2011.
The competition, held at the Function Room of the KL Main Campus attracted over 90 participants from other parts of the world such as Singapore, Taiwan, Korea and Japan and with ages ranging from 5 to 85 years old.
Recognising the value of this 3,000 ancient board game in mental development and enhancing intelligence, the College is planning to include the game in its co-curriculum.
