RM2 million to set up TARC-Tun Tan Siew Sin Student Loan Fund

A historic event on the TARC Student Loan Fund unfolded in a presentation ceremony to mark the highest contribution of RM 2 million from the late Tun Tan Siew Sin’s family to set up the TARC-Tun Tan Siew Sin Student Loan Fund.

More than 1,500 TAR College student loan recipients, merit scholars and staff witnessed the mock cheque presentation to YB Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting, the College Council Chairman by Miss Tan Siok Choo and Miss Tan Siok Lee, the daughters of the late Tun Tan Siew Sin at the ceremony, held at the College Hall, Main Campus in Setapak, KL on 16 June 2011. There was also a slide narration on the late Tun Tan Siew Sin; the Founder and first President of the College and his involvement in the formation of the college.

YB Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting presented a gold photo frame of the late Tun Tan Siew Sin as a token of appreciation to Miss Tan Siok Choo and Miss Tan Siok Lee for the generous donation that represented the late Tun Tan Siew Sin’s legacy in contributing towards helping deserving students of TAR College.
